As our crew are retained, every member lives and works around the town, and if a 999 or 112 emergency call arises, the pagers are activated and the Brigade can be turned out in an average of 5 minutes. On Wednesday 8th June 2005, we joined CAMP WEST which stands for Computer Aided Mobile Programme. This now means that nearly every Fire brigade in the West of Ireland are called out from a Central Control in Castlebar, now known as WRCC ( West Regional Control Centre) CAMP Control Centres in Ireland are WRCC ( Conaught & Donegal), CAMP LEINSTER ( Leinster, Cavan & Monaghan) & CAMP MUNSTER |
