Our training takes place every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month between the times of 19:00hrs and 22:00hrs

The callsign for this station is DL18 ( Delta Lima One Eight ) and DL18 Alpha 1 for our appliance. Our Station was built in 1975 on recommendation from Bundoran Urban Council for a Brigade to be stationed in the Urban area, and funded by Donegal County Council. Its design is based on the basic Fire Station of the 70's. It has 1 Pump Bay, Office, twin showers and wash room.

It is one of fifteen Retained Stations in County Donegal, with the Fire Station HQ being in Letterkenny. All of these stations have been replaced by new state of the art stations with the exception of ourselves Bundoran, Ballyshannon & Glencolmcille to be completed, hopefully in the coming year.

Our Commanding Officers are made up of the following....

Mr. Bobby McMenamin - Acting Chief Fire Officer

Mr. Joseph McTaggart - S.A.C.F.O

Mr. Sean Campbell - S.A.C.F.O

We wish Mr Frank Kerrane, who recently retired as our Chief Fire Officer, a long and happy Retirement.

The Station provides fire cover for over 30 - 40,000 people at peak periods in the town. There is a noticeable increase in call-outs, and this is down to the fact of the busy 12 month tourist season and the large fire area we now cover. In this area we frequently work with our colleagues in Ballyshannon Fire Brigade DL17 & Donegal Town DL16 (Donegal County Fire Service), Manorhamilton Fire Brigade LM25, (Leitrim County Fire Service) and Sligo Fire Brigade SO11 (Sligo Borough Fire Service), and Belleek Fire Brigade W4031 (Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service)

FWCC- Regional Callout Control Centre beside Castlebar Fire Station

WRCC / RCC Control Centre Castlebar where all Fire Service 999/112 calls are routed.

Latest News

Bundoran & Ballyshannon Fire Stations are at present trying to keep their individual Stations in each town, and currently hoping that funding will be made available to build a 2 Bay Station in each Town.
