| Old Photograph possibly 1960's, taken after a Fire at the Astoria Ballroom, when the top wooden Sign went on fire. The hoses can be seen on the left and were connected to a trailer Pump. Picture shows the late Emmet Travers( in the long firefighting coat) and Aidan Travers, left of photo, who would have been volunteer firemen.Thanks to current serving Firefighter Jerome Travers, son of Emmet, for giving me a copy of the photo. |
